Best Supplements
for Fat Loss
Losing body fat will never be accomplished by simply taking a pill. First and foremost your emphasis should be on proper nutrition and proper physical training. Your BODiZONE personal trainer (Oakville,Mississauga & Toronto) can help you with both of these. That being said, there are certain supplements that can help you with the fat loss process. They are as follows:
- Omega 3 fatty acids or fish oils. These healthy fats can assist your body in burning fat in a number of ways including:
- An increase in thermogenesis (loss of energy as heat)
- Turning off of genes associated with storing body fat (lipogenic genes)
- A reduction in inflammation
- A reduction in cortisol
- Turning on of genes associated with burning of abdominal fat (lipolytic genes)
- Green drink (Greens+). These amazing beverages help to increase energy levels, improve memory, improve brain function and balance pH levels. Green drinks also contain phosphatidyl serine (PS), a phospholipid that appears to have cortisol suppressing properties, which is great for fat loss.
- Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA). This compound helps to balance both blood sugar and the hormone insulin. Also helps to decrease the size and volume of fat cells. Has been shown to be effective for reducing abdominal fat in part due to its effect on blood sugar.
- Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). The active component found in green tea. Has been shown to increase the breakdown of fat and enhance thermogenisis (heat formation).
- Ground flax seeds. Ground flax seeds (not flax seed oil) are very effective for helping to stabilize blood sugar which helps to reduce body fat- particularly around the mid-section. Ground flax seeds are superior to flax seed oil due to their high lignan content.
While these supplements are not “quick fixes” to the obesity problem when combined with a personalized fitness & nutrition program they produce a synergistic effect which can produce tremendous results. Your BODiZONE personal trainer will help educate you on which supplements you should invest in and which ones you should avoid altogether.
